On Friday 30th October, the field work of our project was finished at two sites at the same time. First, our hired assistants reported that they cleaned the forest in Cairns and are about to ship us all left-over material next week. After two years of work there, this is a big achievement for our project.
In Papua New Guinea, Bonny (our assistant) and Kore (our PhD student) led the BABE project to its final stage of the first experiment. They are getting ready for new adventures along Mt. Wilhelm where they will survey growth of trees, birds and bats until Christmas. Lets wish them reasonable weather, as they will be enjoying heavy rains during their trip. Also, reportedly, the road is completely missing in the middle of our gradient, which will make their trip very challenging.
