Funding season kicked out

First snowflakes, along with grant decisions, hit Czech Republic thees days. Over these days, we are learning about whether we shall – or shall not – be funded and which ideas are worth pursuing. By Wednesday, we collected already 2 successes. Project SmarTREE developed by Anna Mrazova got funded by BES Small Research Grant, after it’s start up received mobility fuding from PEPR FORESTT.  Congratulations and good luck to her and two new students who joined the project last week.

At the same time, Kateřina Sam secured funding for a investment item from Biology Centre CAS: a very cool Field Metabolic System — fully integrated, rugged, and ready to survive conditions that maybe some field biologists cannot.

This shiny new gear will power our future research on birds along elevational gradients … who wouldn’t love to climb slopes with hundreds of kilos of lab equipment.

Lets impatiently wait until the major decisions on Friday.
