Spring time – submission time

March is typically the month when the Grant Agency of Czech Republic has deadlines for the grant proposals. So while the older members of the laboratory were rather busy to put together some proposals, the youngest are preparing themselves for the soon to come submissions of the Bachelor/Master theses. This year is going to be fruitfull, with hopefully 4 students of Katka and 2 students of Ana finishing in mid-April. This Wednesday, some of the students presented their work at the zoology seminar.

Frantisek Xaver Pulkrabek is about to submit his work about ants in forest patches

Kristyna Kalamenova is finalizing her work on the olfactory of spiders

Katka Puzejova returned after several gap years to finish her work on the vertical stratification of birds

Finally, and there I forgot to take pictures, Vendula Bilkova and Diana Tomandlova, under supervision of Anna Mrazova, will be finishing their work on plant defences.

Next week, we have on program our last soon-to finish student Vojta Janda, who works on herbivore-fungi interactions in the context of urban gradient.

Big thanks go to Jakub and Jitka and all others who assisted tot these students with statitstics and other things.

And when we are not busy with students, we kicked out out this-year projects (we will introduce them soon). I guess that some of us will hate the night/morning work with birds in no time.
