Just before the students left for their summer breaks, and team members with kids for holidays, we organized a lab retreat in Sumava. We booked a house in Rejnstejn for 4 days, and number of people joining was fluctuating around 18-20, depending on how they were finishing exams etc.. We made several trips to the surroundings of Kvilda, Modrava, Borova Lada and on the way home, we stopped at Soumar peatbog. We saw deer, volf and also lynx enclosures and all animals. Despite the heat wave, I believe it was a good event (despite the kegs of beer run out too soon).

For the last time, Jan Lenc joined us before he leaves for University of Florida, and Jakub Pawlik arrived with good news about being officially accepted for the PhD studies with us.

Finally, not only Jakub arrived with good new. Also Kore informed us there, that he secured his follow up job and will be leaving us incoming month, returning for the PhD defense later on.
