Currently, our laboratory has 7(and other 2 passive) Bachelor and Master students, who work on various topics. This week, Katka devoted time to their field work and checking of the projects.

Frantisek P. conducted his last survey of ants in Borkovicka blata peatbog, where we monitor the effects of managements on various insects as a part of his Bachelor thesis.
Verca S. conducted her second survey of insect on willows treated by fungicides for her Master thesis.
Andrea B. is bit distant over the summer as she works in a rescue station, but we helped a bit to catch some blackbirds in rural and urban habitats in Budejovice with help of other ornithology students. The project will fully resume soon.
Vojtech J. started the survey of the trophic interactions on several tree species in urban and rural habitats. This study is conducted in Pilsen and surrounding, a new environment to our lab memebers.
So Katka Sam had four fun filled and busy days in the field + Friday in the office.
In the mean time, Janca keeps re-developing her thesis topic theoretically, as her experiments in Papua New Guinea did not work well, while new student Katka Z just joined our lab and will be working on a review. Yogita K. works independently under the supervision of Leonardo and her field work did not need to be checked.
